If it was going to be Psychic/Fairy I don't see why they wouldn't give it to Ponyta, and so far we haven't seen a regional form get back a type it lost, so I'm thinking the only likely possibilities for Rapidash are

How about both? A Psychic/Flying Rapidash Pegasus and a brand new Psychic/Ghost evolution that's based off of the Kelpie from Scottish mythology. Farfetch'd got a new regional evolution and there's technically no rule saying that the same couldn't happen to a Pokemon that already has an evolution.

But regular Ponyta and Rapidash are pure fire.They've never been fairy type, meaning that Rapidash gaining Fairy is still plausible until it is (most likely) confirmed otherwise.
