I've followed the franchise legit since gen one, and while I agree with the sentiment typically, I think nu-gen designs are just as good sometimes. For example, nu-Mankey in the OP is leagues more appealing than old Mankey. Primeape was one of my boys in both Red and Yellow versions, but I never liked Mankey.

Which were the "realistic" pokemon from gen 7? Besides, Masuda has confirmed they design pokemon so that kids can easily draw them, so the latest gens having babified designs is official now.
