A Pokemon series corresponding to a game these days houses roughly 140 episodes each at ~20 minutes for a total of 2800 minutes of animation or 168000 seconds.
In the game, when you make a move you don't want the animation to last more then about 5 seconds.
These days there are roughly 100 pokemon per gen.
Using these same minutes of animation you could thus create 168000/5/100 = 336 move animations per pokemon.
We don't NEED 226 move animations of course, but what if they were to spend this budget on making moves for all 807 pokemon to date (As they didn't do this in previous gens). 168000/5/807 = ~41 moves per pokemon.
tldr; if they spend the anime budget on the games instead of the anime they could have 41 custom anime-type animations per pokemon.
