Well, doesn't have much science. Registering 12 Pokémon is to be able to have teams of 3 for each of the 4 respective arenas. In each of them you can use 3 different Pokémon from each other, so that you must use the 12 among the 4 arenas. Already in the final round, you can choose 6 of the twelve for the contest.
