It's disappointing. Don't be fooled by the 'Goons, GameFreak loves Kanto. Also if a Pokemon has a Regional Variant, the normal Pokemon isn't in the game---yep.

Zubat and Golbat Grass/Flying. Strawberry jammed in mouth. New evolution replacing Crobat, basically a strawberry-bat-vampire.

Meowth has a Regional Evolution. Basically Togedemaru and Alolan Persian rolled together---Steel/Electric short-hair cat that licks its fur to charge it with electricity and spike it up.

Galar Ponyta and Galar Rapidash are Psychic. Nothing too exciting about Rapidash. What you'd expect.

Voltorb and Electrode, Rock/Ice. Frozen PokeBalls, now they disguise as snowman heads. Electrode goes Gen I and has Voltorb sitting on head.

In reality it's Farfetch'd line/Meowth line and Voltorb line/Ponyta line that are Version Counterparts. As in, Sirfetch'd corresponds to the new Meowth evolution, while Galar Ponyta corresponds to the Galar Voltorb.
