Dark, therefore, showcases unrefined, underhanded, "dirty" fighting, and because the Japanese love their truth and justice, it's weak to Fighting.
You can see examples of it in the moves one of you gave.
>BiteIn truth, this is probably for game balance, but biting your opponent in a real fight could definitely be seen as dirty.
>Sucker PunchSelf-explanatory, getting a hit in on an unsuspecting target.
>PursuitAttacking a fleeing target.
>Faint AttackAttacking from a hidden position.
Further examples include
>Beat UpGanging up on a single target.
>SnatchTheft.
>PaybackVengeance.
>Throat ChopIn an organized fight, usually attacking the throat is disallowed. If nothing else, it is an extreme weak point for most animals.
Dark's role as underhanded or villainous fighters can be seen in some mon typing too. Incineroar is a heel fighter, often portrayed as dirty fighters in entertainment. Inkay and Malamar squirt ink into their opponent's eyes.
It's not an all-inclusive theme, though, as there are other mons who can be seen as just edgy or embodiments of darkness, such as Darkrai, Weavile and Cacturne. This is much like how some Fighting-types don't really fit into the "martial artist" or "justice" theme, and instead are just "tough", like Scrafty, Primeape, or Conkeldurr.
