Why is teleportation a strange concept?
If you can turn monsters into something you can teleport into a computer and then around the world, then there is nothing to say you can't do it to a human.
Hell that's actually a interesting concept of what you could do with that.

Its a dumb excuse. Its a lazy writer's convenience for them to be able to just go to a different region than the last episode every single episode.

Well it already works for pokemon, and it's been around since a Sabrina's gym and Silph co.
So I don't think it's that bad. Better than 2 episode in hoenn, then 3 episodes of boat travel.

You can also store your Pokemon in a PC in the games but that doesn't happen in the anime at all

You can go to another region virtually. It's equivalent to the sevii islands. New islands unlock as you progress through main game. You can transfer pokemon you catch from the virtual world to the Galar region through the device in your pic called "pokemon grid".

I think Gen 7 retconned this into them being placed into Poke Pelago. As for previous Gens, they're placed in some nondescript location. The boxes are only for cataloging, the Pokemon aren't actually stored in the computer. This would make the games and the anime line up.

I think this is actually an interesting idea. "Pocket Monsters" isn't tying itself to any particular Generation anymore. They usually re-brand everything to align with the latest games. But this structure would allow them to hop around to different places, and keep the show moving. Galar will just be one stop on an ongoing adventure, even more so than past seasons.
