Yeah, they're certainly gold at this point. The printing is probably nearing it's end and the shipping of the units will happen over the next week or so. Gotta have the units ready and on shelves come the release date so they tend to have them at the destination like 2+weeks early. That's why breaking street date happens usually around that time.

I have played the first 90 minutes.
It is a downloadable demo on switch, you need an official invite of course with a valid key
after 90 minutes an ingame popup appears and the game is paused indefinitely. You can restart though if you want. Its actually an older build from around june.
The game is very tutorial and cutscene heavy the first 20 minutes. You begin with waking up and.converse with your mom as always but then Gloria shows up and you are off to watch a soccer game.
In the parking lot you meet the prof. who has lost his keys, so you offer to help and by some bushes you are surprised by an impidimp (it has the keys too). Gloria helps out and scarea it off with her yamper, and then the prof says to come too his lab afterwards to get a pokemon since you cant rely on Gloria being there all the time
