>>40326734It looks fine overall. It could look better but it doesn't look anywhere near as bad as /vp/ thinks. It's also always looked better in motion than in still shots, and the town stuff never really looked bad the Wild Area is where the game suffers graphically.
There were some nice small things that I noticed like the NPC turning to look at you as you pass them, Wooloo's name popping up, and the blonde NPC speaking to you as you walk by. Those turning animations were a lot smoother than the ones we saw in the E3 demo. Nothing to write home about but much less robotic. Especially the head tilt from the blonde NPC. Also every NPC was unique which is nice.
The draw distance was the low point. I think that's a result of prioritizing handheld mode above docked. I've always assumed this game was made with handheld mode in mind honestly. I think Ohmori might have even mentioned that in an interview but I can't remember. It's probably something they could have avoided since most games optimize when docked, and restrict themselves when undocked.
