I'm playing Platinum and trying to decide on my last Pokemon, I'm thinking either Gastrodon or Glaceon.

My current 5 are

Alakazam
Luxray
Staraptor
Gabite
Monferno

Gastodon. You need a water type for HMs and something to deal with Bertha later since you lack a grass type.

Why would you use Staraptor AND Infernape on the same team?
There is almost no synergy between them. Drifblim is a much better partner to Infernape.
Staraptor covers Fighting type, resists Infernape's Ground weakness
Drifblim covers Fighting, Ghost, Psychic types, resists Infernape's Ground weakness

Agreed. I replayed Platinum not too long ago and Gastrodon pretty much carried my team for the second half of the game.
