When middle stages were revealed it was pretty obvious they were real and the argument shifted mostly to making fun of Incineroar being a fighting type. There was still a lot of denial tho. Then the demo was datamined and /vp/ absolutely flipped. As you can imagine Incineroar got a ton of shit and people were claiming Decidueye was the next Greninja. A lot of confusion about the typing of both, the most intense starterwars ever, Ballioposting, people desperately redesigning Roar. There was even a tinfoil Anon that thought that those were fake but GF decided to put them in the game because they were popular. Incineroar was commonly called Luchalitten, Decidueye was called Greninja 2.0/Edgebird and I think Primarina was called Mermaid. That was back when /vp/ was fun. Ash Greninja was also a wild reveal so were Alolan Forms. Shit was great. People were so hyped for the game that they expected way too much of it and when the rom leaked this board turned to a toxic wasteland
