Oleana is the main villain.

DLC content allowing you to go to a "battle frontier" type place will be available for purchase before christmas

I dont know why people turn the idea down so fast, Nintendo and by extension GF take a bit longer to catch up but i can see DLC come to pokemon someday.

pretty sure this was stated way back, during like XY or ORAS interviews, when "DLC" was the gaming boogeyman, much like how lootboxes are now the boogeyman.
Iwata said he never wanted to do mobile, Nintendo now (likely he made the decision when he was alive, I doubt they just said "lmao fuck Iwata we mobile now bois") do mobile.
Masuda said he didn't want to cut pokemon if he couldn't help it, and now here we are.

said, GF and Nintendo are just really slow on modern gaming landscape. Whether it's this gen or not is a different question, but I think the fact that it's probably easier to implement DLC on the Switch than it was for the handhelds makes it more likely. USUM also received a fair bit of backlash for just being glorified DLC, especially considering the last time GF did that was in 2008. That's 9 years difference, again, a completely different gaming landscape.
