Did they? I never heard this.

I'd imagine they might mean games on other consoles, once all the pokemon are modeled and such on switch they'll be able to go in all games. Unless gamefreak are planning to limit them for all games and have us used to it.

You mean the ONE model they've been reusing since XY?

We had to suffer through 6 fucking years of lag on the 3ds thanks to those future proof models, they are spitting in our faces not making use of them. Granted they are probably retexturing all of the models, which admittedly can take some work (much less work then remaking all models, they could have easily outsourced it), but even if retexturing all of the models is an obstacle, they can retexture half of the models in the dex NOW and then retexture the rest of the models for the next big release. There is no reason for them to say "you'll never get all pokemon ever again even after they've all been retextured"

I dont think you are understanding the work load of transfering, fixing and updating the textures of 800+ models.

This only makes sure it's actually transferable to better consoles. The work load doesn't decrease by that much.

Why did they bother making a 5th return to kanto in Let's go, instead of working on Sword and Shield more and dedicating their time and effort to that game? Transferring is easy enough.
Fixing? Nothing has been fixed anyway
And the textures? With a good team could easily be done in anythubg between one and three weeks unless they do something completely idiotic and scrap everything.
