Underages and manchildren care a LOT about their ELO, since they have nothing else in their lives. It's like those people that disconnect when they lose in fighting games, or those Smash players that lag the fuck out and sit at the other stage and throw projectiles for 6 minutes every game.

Because competitive Pokemon is fun when you understand the basics, but bringing your in-game team is like playing a fighting game without half of the buttons.

This is the generation smogon finally dies, I think
With in-game tournaments, breeding being optional, and the dex restricted to in-game mons there is really no need to a battle simulator behind the team drafting stage

rain is seriously so unbalanced
so many types benefit from the loss of a fire weakness, bonus water stab, or hurricane/thunder accuracy
sandstorm comes close, but it only benefits a strict 3 types rather than anything weak to fire, using water moves, or thunder/hurricane

Water types will be a pain in the ass.
Look at the pokedex in serebii.
Decent electric and plant mons could be counted with the fingers of one hands, whereas there is so many OU water mons.
RotomW and Toxapex will dominate the early meta

nah people will still prefer smogon for the streamlined process of teambuilding and ability to make on the fly edits, not to mention tiering and rulesets. breeding is but a small fraction of what makes smogon so preferable. smogon will also host a metagame that includes non cart mons.

rain also benefits its own type, meanwhile sun has to use fucking grass types. fire types get a 1.5 boost and thats basically it because they dont have sun abilities.

This is how I feel.
It basically turns Pokemon into a numbers game and you can only pick the -best- mons.
More than likely your faves just can't make the cut and are considered shitmons because of it, no matter how much you love them.

But like that anon said this is with competitive anything.

I don't own a switch and have never bought a Pokemon game in my life.
I'm going to keep playing smogon until Disney buys Nintendo and makes Pokemon real
