megas were a complete trainwreck of a ""mechanic"", they added literally nothing to the game except more power creep since they weren't even balanced with themselves

Mewtwos. They both look terrible and are overkill.
Also, Pokemon doesn't make sense, but it getting two megas although it didn't even existed when stones were created bother me. If it shared a stone with Mew, why not, but that's not the case.

All of them. Most are powercreeping for mons that didn't need it and ruining their designs and the ones that are acceptable or even GOOD designs are utterly wasted as Megas instead of fucking normal evolutions or standalone new mons. This goes double for megas given to mons with only one evolution and two-to-the-fuck-yourself-exponent for megas given to UNEVOLVED pokemon.

OT but I think Charizard Y is almost perfect. Ditch the arm wings and you have a perfect mega.

I think Aggron, Aerodactyl, Blastoise, Manectric, the art for Sharpedo and Mewtwo X and Y are awful almost beyond saving. Mewtwo could be saved if the tail was in the right spot and also if that was Mews Mega. They should have had mewtwos both be pure psychic, one being designed around the idea that Mewtwo had fully controlled its anger and power and is very bulky, whereas the other form has completely lost control and minmaxes attack and speed.

Not anymore. Regular Garchomp was better last gen when you could safely run Dragon Claw/Outrage and your Mega slot was more important, but this gen all of Garchomp's non-Z sets are way worse except Rocky Helmet. Z-move Garchomp is still better, but if your Z-move is already taken then Mega sets are the next best thing. It's pretty much the same as having no-recoil Life Orb with extra bulk and Sand Force.

No. This guy was actually good in competitive, and is basically the standard of what a Mega should've been in terms of utility

Also looks much better in-game than in artwork, just like how Megazard Y looks great in its art but is fugly in-game
