I want GF to improve, I really do, but this has literally been every generation: two steps forward, one step backwards, only this time it’s ??? steps forward, two steps back.
If they make a truly impressive game, which will never be up to snuff to the dexit fags around here with le why-you-should-hate-this-game infographics and ‘just consume’ memes, I would have no problem getting one of them, and in my opinion it looks to be on par with gen 7 if not better, which got hundreds of hours out of me, and I didn’t even complete the Pokédex.
Expecting any gigantic leap in graphics or coding expertise which they have historically lacked as the game file sizes grew since the 3DS era, is a mistake on the consumer’s part, a wishful thinking for TPCi’s bitch hole GameFreak to be allowed the time it takes to make a perfect game.
What you’re really asking when you say
>>40370367 is “make the multi-billion franchise Pokémon put effort into one of the least cost effective streams of revenue and let them make a game that takes “too much time” to make”, and that’s an unfair request, mostly because people at the top won’t do a goddamn thing, but the people at the GF development team (the bottom) can’t really do anything but what they’re told.
tl;dr don’t support GF if you don’t like the quality of the games, but don’t expect your lack of nickel like contribution to put any form of dent in their adamancy to push games out like they do, and don’t criticize the people for supporting it when we too are not entirely responsible for the state of Pokémon games.
