Would wielding a Choice Scarf guarantee 120/150 damage against most targets, or should I just give it Specs/Orb? Only taking Electroball into consideration.

Even with a choice scarf you only hit 264 speed and 1/3 of this is 88 which is REALLY slow. Uninvested base 70 mons like Skarmory hit 90 speed for reference.

Sticky web only reduces their speed to 2/3 of original, so 132 speed would be reduced to 88. Max speed base 70s hit 134 speed for reference, so even after sticky web would be faster than the 1/3 threshold for 120 bp.

So electroball from a choice scarf galvantula is weaker than thunderbolt unless the opponent is slower than skarmory. Practically never worth it.

Scarf Electro Ball is only stronger than Life Orb Thunder if you get absolute max damage, and as other anons have pointed out the list of mons you're hitting for even 120 power is pretty short. Better to just use Thunder, especially since Scarf makes it easy to just switch in a Ground-type anyways.

Specs electro ball hits harder than scarf electro ball, this makes the move stronger but the list of pokemon that will be hit by 120BP electroball or higher gets smaller. Using another electric move seems more efficient and consistent, but if you want to still want to use electro ball use specs instead of scarf.
