I dislike nu4chan basedjak garbage but the comic has a point. Why cant Gay Freak make a Pokémon game that is actually challenging so that people dont have do stupid shit like nuzlockes and forbid themselves to use basic game mechanics to actually make the game not a stroll in the park?

Pokemon being turn based is not a feature but a limitation unlike the examples you give. The tv show is pretty much like a real time strategy game and it makes the battles are way more interesting

Everyone on /vp/ wants pokemon to change for the better but you cant exactly overhaul the entire core of the games in a year which is why they get upset when gamefreak adds something different then remove it in the new game because gamefreak doesnt want the older games to become obsolete
"Oh that game is the one with megas and this one is the one with gigantamaxing" is what gamefreak wants but everyone else wants the games to just gradually become better

You can still have have a challenging turn based game. Its more that the game has a lot of kind of unique mechanics but does nothing with them and is so easy the player isnt really forced to engage with them at any point. The whole "switching out mons for the situation" thing isnt really something the game teaches or encourages, which leads to the OP starter thing, and it actively sort of discourages it by having it so you can know what the NPCs next pokemon is and allowing you to switch before they send theirs out while also having it so that NPCs only send pokemon out when their's dies. None of the game's mechanics are even used even though there are tons of actual legitimate strategies you can do. On top of this normally by the point you're actually able to build any sort of strategy with your team and are at a point where you can actually do stuff other than just spam the same attack you're generally around the last parts of the game. Add onto that the lack of any post game and by the time you actually can have real fun with the systems, the game's already essentially over with multiplayer being the only option for any exploration on what you can do. Add onto that absolute dogshit tier balancing, like fucking did anyone even remotely playtest dragon risen rayquaza, and even the multiplayer scene is busted. The fact something like smogon even exists is proof that there's such a stupid level of imbalance in the games. The fact there are fan tiers just so people can use mons if they want against people is stupid. Add onto that the fact the game has a lot of mechanics it doesnt even explain like IVs and the fact it does stupid shit like making some mons objectively stronger and locking them to certain natures makes it so if you want to get the most out of the game you have to do stupid round about breeding shit that most people probably wouldnt be aware of it if they didnt look it up. The gameplay would be fine if they actually did anything with it.

They'd continue to be the same, this is the company's view of the series. Tagiri's still involved with every game's production, even if it's not as hands-on as in Gen I and II and he personally signs off on all game scripts produced. He still sees it as the bug/creature catching game for modern children as when he'd first seen the link cable and thinking of a bug crawling along it between two games.

Masuda certainly doesn't help matters, but the core problem of Pokemon is the corporate and shareholder backing that skullfucks every single decision the company wants to make now.
The art direction and human design is pretty much the only thing they actually have the freedom to do, and, lo-and-behold, that's the one place nu-pokemon actually excels.

Yeah.
Literally the only ONLY instance where the easy mode unlock is good is if you beat the game and know someone who hasn't bought the game yet, is going to, AND is so thoroughly terrible at Pokemon that they can't beat it, even with items.
The only realistic example I can think of is if a parent had finished the game, had chosen White, and decided they liked it so much that they buy an extra copy for their 5 year old kid.

Reminder that Easy is harder than Normal because enemy mon pools and movesets are unchanged while you gain less exp for killing them.
Challenge Mode is still the hardest though.

Mario's jumping is most of the game. The others all exist (Melee Metroid is Hollow Knight, DK without bananas is Banjo, Dark Souls without the tremendous challenge is LoZ, and Kirby games without eating is honestly some of the Kirby games) but that one changes the genre entirely.

You’re not entirely wrong, but Final Fantasy constantly changes the way the battles are done. I know FFXV wasn’t that great but that was mostly because of its shitty story, and even way before then they were always changing and tweaking the battle system.

Final Fantasy's big changes were going from turn-based to active-turn-based, and then to gambits, and that's a series that tries to reinvent itself every single title over fifteen games. They're amazingly unstable compared to every other JRPG. Nobody gets mad at Mother 3 or Fire Emblem Awakening or Dragon Quest XI or SMT IV for being turn-based RPG's, why is Pokemon an exception?

Because outside of the battling system those series improves the games in other ways. Just about everything in Dragon Quest XI is bigger and better than Sword/Shield (aside from recycling the music for all of the towns).
