>>40393265It is admittedly a rather autistic idea, but I have always sort of viewed Gold, Silver, and Crystal's Gold to be different from Heart Gold and Soul Silver's Ethan/Hibiki. Even plenty of artists make a sort of distinction. Artworks of GSC's Gold tend to be more cool, or suave, and confident/"badass". Meanwhile, artworks of HGSS' Ethan/Hibiki usually have more of a cutesy vibe to them. There is overlap, of course, like Ethan's design, but with the traits more common to that of Gold, but it's not the most common. It's similar to how there is FRLG/LGPE/SM Red, and then there is "Pixiv Red/Gen I Red".
