I caught a shiny Rattata in LGE. I wasn't chaining and I didn't have the shiny charm yet, but it still feels a little cheap since it's Let's Go

Don't keep it. If you didn't catch it in USUM with shiny charm or breeding then it isn't real and you should feel bad for having it.

I've never actually had a shiny charm before LGE since it's so easy to get 150 in it
All my shinnies are from gen 4 and 5

Last time I played Emerald I caught three shinies (makuhita, oddish, swablu) just going through the story but I gave up trying to hatch a shiny Meowth in Y after about 1600 attempts with shiny charm and masuda

I've never done any shiny hunting, just been lucky with 5 wilds including that rattata
>roselia and ekectabuzz in Plat
>Mareep in B2
>Mudsdale in Sun that I forgot about until just now
then I have mystery gift ones and a dratini and haxorus you can get in B2 for seeing the naional dex and beating the white tree respectively

I don't care if in Let's Go it's easier to find shinys, its a shiny you got by random, and those are the best shinys

What the fuck are you on. Random shinies are the only shinies that mean anything, brute forcing one for hundreds of hours like an autist makes that shiny a reminder of time wasted, as opposed of a special chance encounter.

I got two full odds shinies On route 7 during my LGE playthrough, one on the way to Celedon from Lavendar, the other on the return journey during the storyline. Odds are the same as the 3DS games anon, so it was still a 1/4000+ chance of appearing. Your decision.

No, it's every pokémon that appears has a 1/4096 rate, which gets cut to 1/273 (exactly the same as USM's max SOS chain rate+ charm), after max lure+max chain+SC.
Shiny odds are never cumulative or "spit between whatever appears on-screen" it's always been "every pokémon that appears, the game rolls its chances to be a shiny".

yeah but if you see all of them at once in the overworld and they each have a 1/4096 that would increase your odds (like horde battles), instead of individually encountering pokemon right?

No, again. Every time the game generates a pokémon, including 2+ at once, it rolls a number for each pokémon individually to determine its shininess, based off the current active overworld odds (adjusted for charm, lure and chain as already detailed above from 1/4096). They never roll cumulatively, or by somehow spawning 6 suddenly it's giving you 6 times better the odds. It's just rolling six at once for you.

but thats what I'm getting at, not that each pokemon spawned has better odds, but if you're trying to hit a 1 and you roll 6 dice you have better probability of hitting that 1 (and faster than rolling 1 die consecutively)

Mate, it took me 20 hours to "hit a one" with a shiny ponyta hunt in the post-game. My two full odds came literally as I walked through R7 to progress the storyline in Celkadon then in Lavender the day later. Odds is odds, unless it's an actual 100% chance of happening, increasing the number of occurrences doesn't automatically make it easier or shorter.
