That's fine. Know that Game Freak's purpose is to make money. Nostalgia sells, nostalgia is marketable, and the original generation of Pokemon are more mascot-like than any other generation after it. Pokemon doesn't make the majority of its profits from the games, anyway; their main business is all about merchandise and licensed products. That stuff only works for recognizable Pokemon with years of longevity and familiarity. Pikachu, Charizard, Butterfree, Eevee, Meowth, and Lapras (let's be real, that's confirmed now) are all especially recognizable in Gen 1. Don't be surprised if by some stupid chance Gigantamax Mewtwo exists.

Gen 1 is what defines pokemon.

Pokemon started as satoshi tajiri playing around on his grandpas farm drawing and daydreaming about bugs and birds and wild animals.

Pokemon shits the bed in later generations and becomes “cuhraaazy” shit and that's a shame. But gen 1 (and gen 2 because half of gen 2 pokemon were designed for gen 1 but didnt make it into the game) is what pokemon are. No one cares about the garbage that pokemon turned into so why pander to it?

I hope this image is ironic.

Crystal Emerald & Platinum are considered the best as they add in QOL as well as a few other additions and fixes.

HGSS are considered the best remakes as they feel like a total re-haul which is for the better.

BW2 are the last solid games as they were a great way to end the DS era.

Everything since has been underwhelming.

hey you pikachu speaks for itself (even if it has a bit of soul) but battle revolution is basically just a 3D battle sim that requires you to buy a 40 dollar game (on top of what was at the time a 60 dollar price tag) if you want to pick from more than a handful of set pokemon in the game. It has neat trainer customization and a few neat colosseums but its a very barebones game and absolutely not worth putting over any of the main series even for someone who has an irrational hatred of DP/ORAS
putting colosseum over XD is pretty dumb too.

They're the icons of the series in the same way that Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser are. All you're arguing is that Pokemon has LESS pandering to the originals than Mario does. Literally nothing is stopping them from having a Mario game where Bowser ISN'T the final boss and DOESN'T kidnap Peach for the umpteenth time, but they still do it anyway.
