that was before the current policy. now, until proven otherwise, game freak will never have the balls to cut a single gen 1 pokemon. blastoise and venushit will still be in the game, they just won't get the same gimmicks as charizard.

I'm not talking about them getting a Gigantamax, I'm talking about revealing that they exist at all.
As it currently stands, I have no reason to believe that Charizard isn't the only returning starter, and the reality of "not every Kanto Pokemon is safe" seems to be more and more true after I legitimately denied such a concept myself.

Not every kanto Pokemon is safe. Probably 30 or 40 will be cut. But Venusaur and Blastoise will be in. Squirtle and bulbasaur are too popular.

Venusaur and Blastoise both aren't ace Pokémon to an important in-game character nor do they have gigantamax forms. As such, they haven't been shown off like Charizard who has both of these qualities in SwSh.

I'm saying this not because I want to believe they're in, but that I know they're going to be in, and you are fretting over nothing. It's common sense.
