I don't see how considering that the anime won't even be set set in Galar

Galar will just be one of the regions visited, it has to share screentime with Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and Alola

So I don't think Dynamax will get much attention, since Galar is the first region to not get its own anime and instead revisit past regions

Yes, because Meowth is a comedic relief Pokemon in the anime.
Glad you're finally understanding that Pokemon is basing its designs and overall decisions on both GO and the Anime over the actual games themselves now.

It's been like this since Gen 3.

Hell, it started in Gen 2 since Lugia wasn't even originally planned to be in the game. It was created for the anime, which is why it's so out of the way compared to Ho-Oh.

In these last two gens, Meowth is finally be recognized as the Pokemon icon he is. He's on par with Charizard and Mewtwo in terms of how well known he is.

is correct in that it was an easy Kirby clone so would take less dev time, especially since it was supposed to be the "joke" character of the game. But it wasn't just picked entirely at random. My mother hardly knew anything about Pokemon during Pokemania, but even she would say

>"Oh my god, it's that pink marshmallow AGAIN. Why does it keep SINGING all the time???"

It stood out more than Meowth, who was just a talking cat with a coin.

Just give Meowth and Eevee a "Light Ball" already and get it over with. Persian is going the way of Raichu, there is no way to stop it, but at least give Meowth a decent gimmick to compensate. This GigantaMax would be nice if it's gimmick wasn't utterly useless, Pay-Day already existed.
