Remember when they first showed off that Weavile raid? Why would it examine it's own hands like that after becoming Dynamaxed if it was just a projection with the real Weavile inside controlling it like a puppet? Why would Gigantamax Eevee be petting it's own fur, not like it would be able to feel it through the projection?
Literally no part of anything we have seen makes the projection statement make sense. Watch, I bet the projection thing is never even brought up in the game itself either, because it was never intended to be a projection and it was an ass-pull after people started fetishizing it.
