If a magnet is listed as gender unknown, it doesn't mean there's a third gender, it means that magnets don't have genders. Legendaries having unknown gender is standard and done for gameplay purposes to keep a sense of mystery about them. Legends are only ever assigned a gender to give context to it's design and elaborate on that Pokemons personallity. The same goes for female only Pokemon and male only Pokemon.
