Either way, Affleck clearly only played 1 version of the game, probably Sword, so there's tons of ways he could have been misled.

To be fair, after Solgaleo and Lunala both evolved from Cosmoem, I could easily see someone being presented with Zacian and Zamazenta with very little context and thinking they’re just alternate formes of the same Pokémon (a la Kyurem)

I mean if the stuff was good people would still be hyped. Just because you know something exists doens't mean you cant be hyped for it if whats being shown is cool. Lets go piakchu and eevee getting forms is going to be just as disappointing if not more so if you dont expect it. The affleck leak didnt make the live stream any more shit, it didnt make the the pokemon revealed so far any less mundane than they already are or any less cool, it didnt make the starter reveals any more interesting (ha), and it certainly didnt make these new gigantomax forms any more disappointing than they already were. Its the games fault that theres shit hype. I get they want to hide most of the stuff since sun and moon got so many complaints but like there's a middle ground between showing everything and showing fucking almost nothing interesting minus a few small things like some mons.
