The reason we haven't seen the Bulba or Squirtle lines yet is because they have Galarian forms. Personally, I'd like that way more than Gigantamax cringe.

Starters getting regional variantes would be atrocious. Hopefully the fact alolan/galarian Charizard doesn't exist means GF is aware of that

Because it's the wrong starters. The general consensus is that we're tired of kanto pandering. If they gave galar forms to the gen 2 starters, then you'd probably see a more positive reaction that "UGH MORE KANTO"

There's an implied exclusivity/rarity regarding the starters in the game.

Blastoise is my favorite Pokemon, but I will drop my pre-order so fast it will make your head spin if they decide to give it a galarian form.

Because regional variants are a retarded way to soft reboot a pokemon's design. Starters are iconic and nobody wants them to be forgotten for some half baked recolor.
