She begged the other to let her have her own colony, which wound up being earth. (it was at this point the OP pic happened, she abandoned her friend in her garden by telling her to wait there for her when she just wanted to get away from her)
She got curious about the life on earth and disguised herself as a lower gem to explore and soon came to love the planet and its life, and didn't want to have it destroyed by the usual gem conquest.
So she fucked off those responsibilities and pretended to wage an uprising against the diamonds as her disguised persona, which resulted in a huge war where thousands of gems on both sides died. Eventually she faked her own death as a diamond and became her disguised persona permanently. The other diamonds came and the war continued until the diamonds just said fuck it and corrupted all the gems on the planet (except for a small handful protected by pink) and left to go back home.
So yeah, abandoned her responsibilities time and again and got into a war with herself that killed thousands.
