This. When I said I'm dropping or giving up on Pokemon I meant completely disregarding future gens and sticking to playing the ones I like. I think everything in Gen 7 and 8 is shit but I'm still going to enjoy 1-5.

I didn't bother with Lets Go because I knew they'd be shit and they were allegedly just spin offs, but this is a mainline game and will be indicative of future games.

Also because 1, I like watching train wrecks, and 2, I still have the tiniest fraction of a spark of a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe Game Freak was right and that they're withholding most of the good stuff for release, so everyone can be surprised when they play it.
