I do prefer the pink silver kinda color it has in most other depictions. That said orange/black/silver has that industrial vibe to it which I also enjoy and which fits well for the aesthetic of the old card, especially with the heavy texturing and it being a 3D model. It looks almost like a spaceship of some sort and definitely intriguing.
On the other hand, pic related was the first Forretress I ever saw and it also made a great impression on me. Here obviously it's almost purple (as it was in all sprites and models up until XY, but here the color is darker) and also a 3D model. Contrasted with the red "inner" color the whole thing looks more dangerous and destructive, and the Bomb Risk attack was cool as hell to me back then. All three (silver, pinkish, purple) of these versions of Forretress shed a unique light on its weird design, and I think that's the main reason I like it so much. It's a very diverse yet simple design for a strange bomb creature thing. I like how it looks in-game currently, and my favorite coloration probably is a darker version of that, think the Colosseum model or similar. That shiny also was better.
