$15 is pretty fair, the game has a nice aesthetic and apparently 200+ monsters to catch, which is going to be roughly 4 times as many new monsters as Sword/Shield will have.

I'm honestly probably gonna skip this pokemon gen, but I'll buy this game because it looks like it has actual soul.
Apparently it was made by just one japanese dude as a passion project too, so it'll be better than whatever soulless no-effort husk of a game Gamefreak shits out just because they know Pokemon is popular and they want to get easy money.

Unironically, I hadnt even heard about this game until I saw this thread and I’m a thousand times more hype for this dumb ass steam shit than SWOOSH. I’m probably gonna buy Disc Creatures but I’m not even gonna waste my time trying the SWASH demo. Lurking here for 2 weeks will most likely confirm all my worst fears so take my $15 steam. Nintendo can shove it.

I wait a day and I can buy two polished Digimon games on Steam.
I wait a month and I can play an official Pokemon game.
If this released in August when things were quiet, then sure I'd be all over it. But at the moment I'll just wait out the Steam winter sale, probably not even buy it then and forget it exists by the summer sale when it's actually heavily discounted.
