Nah, they won't get anything. Mega Evolutions and ORAS were a one time thing. The new gimmicks from Gen-7 onwards are focused on Gen 1 and the new gens Pokemon.

GSC is the worst of the golden age of Pokemon (pre-XY) discounting Diamond and Pearl. The remake is subpar because while it does address the Pokemon distribution issues in the first and add content, this comes at the expense of the original's soul, which is really the only thing it had going for it. Why on earth would I want to replay Johto and its awful levels and gym designs when I have access in that same gen to Platinum?
