Honestly, what's the point of even being a longtime fan of the series any more? Game Freak has made it abundantly clear that we don't matter, because they'd rather appeal to someone who likely hasn't consumed anything Pokemon related in 20 years instead.

And plenty of other Nintendo based franchises are growing with their playerbase, plenty of game companies outside of Nintendo's realm are growing with their playerbase. It's not the consumers fault that GameFreak refuses to implement anything that people want out of Pokemon. And telling people to fuck off and go to a new game when there's nkthing out there that scratches the same itch Pokenon does isn't helpful either.
