By realizing that everyone who began to purchase from XY has inadvertently spun the franchise to a fiery state and despite people purchasing these guys, they won't really know how good or bad it's really going to be and by the end of it, will still wonder why the fuck the game was so bad and lacking hard-coded mons despite having told people it was going to be the best game they'd have the chance to get and that, regardless of whether you buy more mainline games or mobile games just in spite, there's really no win-win situation except for Game Freak here.

Did you not see all of the 90-minute hands-on articles from today? Game reviewers love it so far, even the ones that have been critical of the games.

Not to mention the graphics looks objectively decent (but obviously not perfect), the characters look great, the big fat open world section, the raid battles, PSS being back, tutorials being skippable, pokemon being in full HD on a home console finally

How deluded do you have to be to think the games won't be good?

Everyone who had your stance said Let's Go would sell more than Sun/Moon, even with all the changes, the small dex, etc.
They're actually the worst selling mainline games if you don't count 3rd versions.

I'm not saying Sword/Shield won't sell like hotcakes, but I think word of mouth has a lot more pull than people think.

I will agree that reviewers are blatantly biased against niche titles. I mean if you’re going to review a game that is part of a series, shouldn’t you have played the other games in the series?

Nintendo was the one to release the figures, and they obviously have access to their own download sales stats. If they didn't include them, I think that's more telling that download sales wasn't worth the inclusion.

Consider also how many people might just buy the Switch for SwSh, 20 million isn't unrealistic. I'm not OP so I didn't set that bar, but it will definitely sell a lot more than LGPE

I don't know. What is there to say about it? People who are less invested won't care if the game is shit because it has Pokemon on it, that was always a fact. Doesn't help that people have both misrepresented and misunderstood the problem with the removal of the national dex, so any casuals who might hear of it will just say something like "that's okay, I only use new pokemon anyway, and it must be hard to make all the pokemon for each game".
