Mega Beedrill will forever be based and kind of captures the old Kaiju-monster feel of Gen 1, being especially intimidating as fuck. I'm glad Butterfree got it's share of attention , im just dumbfounded how they didn't give it a mega alongside Beedrill though. Beedrill is the clear winner though.

Megas made beedrill useable with minmaxing.Even when it gigantmaxes it's BST is slightly lower than volcas but volc doesn't leave after 3 turns

Both. Butterfree was always meant to be the beautiful one and Beedrill the cool one, they just never did a great job in that.
Mega Beedrill looks extra cool, Giga Butterfree looks extra beautiful. So both expanded in what they should be. And both will be short lived as well.
