Not really a bigger problem than the trade evos in gen 2

1. Around 25% of the fully evolved (at the time) Pokemon being in the 90-130 Speed range is not shabby.

2. As of Crystal, only 5 "new" lines are exclusive to Kanto. There are also Blissey and Porygon2, but those make sense.

3. Movepools are relative. While Kanto Pokemon had access to RGBY TMs, that came at the expense of egg moves. Regardless, HGSS indeed modernized the movepools.

4. The level curve is awkward, but I'm still confused as to whether most people consider the games easy or grindy because of it. If you don't grind, I don't think that the difficulty is that different than most games'.
