Crystal, maybe. It barely differs except Suicune plotline and minor stuff.
You won't be able to get Mareep tho, so it's a no in my book, but to each their own.

Pretty much no reason not to play Crystal unless you really like certain designs from GS (yellow Chikorita, brown Sneasel, etc.).

this. play the version with the exclusives you like unless you want the Suicune story line. If you like shiny breeding, crystal is a bit easier early game.
