I don't understand why we value this identity and not other identities. Why is this one, which this article says is a social or self construction, valued so much more than say, a schizophrenic's beliefs about their life? Honestly, WHAT is the difference? They are both made up and in their heads, so why is one some major social movement, and the other is ignored? Is it the sheer fact that women have a lot of easy shit in their lives, so becoming a woman would be popular by default? Is that why women becoming men is rare, and also why we celebrate these delusions and not others?
