So now I caught all the pokemon for the first time in any game. I talked to Oak and he was like "thanks bro". Is that all? Isn't there any kind of fun reward or something?

Imo it should have always been that if you catch all the 150 oak gives you Mew as a reward. It could even have a bit of a storyline about how Oak managed to save it during the cinnabar experiment disaster and he was waiting for someone worthy that wont ever use it for evil purposes again.

There's never a substantial reward for completing the Pokedex. I think the best one was in Emerald, you get to pick a Gen 2 starter, but even that was just for completing the Hoenn Dex, not the whole thing. National Dex completion usually just gets you a slap on the ass.
