Cutting Pokémon doesn't mean magically adding other content (that was there alongside all the Pokemon back when GF used to give a fuck), it just means GF are cutting corners.

I wouldn't stop at rock, paper, scissor and dynamite. If you made a game that had the basis of checks and counters like that, you'd have to add more to the game, meaning dynamite would have to have a check, otherwise you're just a shitty planner.
