>>40450572Because everything else was shit and Routes are kind of far down the list in terms of important things in a Pokemon game;
1) The plot was sub-par even for a Pokemon Game and was more or less a worse version of the Team Magma/Aqua Plot although didn't even get to see the Legendary fuck everything up (Main Plot)
2) the AI in the game was dumbed down from Gen V and lacked intelligence and behaviour that remotely made logical sense (Enemy AI)
3) The Gyms and most trainers lacked anything beyond 3 Pokemon, this was a problem in Gen V as well although at the very least most trainers would have unusual team compositions to make their fights more difficult (Difficulty)
4) The Exp. Share was broken and therefore you're left with three options; Grind, cheese the system or use the Exp. Share (Grinding)
5) No character remotely stood out and most were downgrades from Gen V in terms of narrative storytelling (Characters)
6) The Post-Game is a significant step down from previous generations and for the time was the worst Post-Game alongside RGBY and RS (Post-Game)
7) Mega Evolutions in their first iteration had several issues primary among them being that for Gen VI they completely broke the game's difficulty by being leagues stronger than anything else and were always the best answer to any problem posed towards the player or were the only answer outside of grinding (Gameplay Mechanics)
