As someone who has made tree 3d models, you niggers can't understand that an open world is loading thousands of these at the same. Unless you're using LODs, memory space is being wasted if all those thousand trees have higher polygon counts and 4k textures.
Cutting some corners might be necessary.

As someone who has played that game on an emulator with a shitty computer that forest is one of the most graphically intensive places in both games. Took a full 2 minutes to purify even one Pokemon in gale because of that.
