How many Pokémon do you catch when playing or replaying a game? Do you try to catch 'em all, only the 6 mons for your party, or something in between?

I passively catch em all. Basically, if I encounter a mon not yet on the dex, Ill throw a ball.

Once i get my team it's pretty much set, but I do try to catch whatever's not in my dex.

First playthrough I catch everything as I go, if I can.

Every other playthrough depends upon what I'm doing. Sometimes I'm just raising competitively bred Pokémon so I just use that team, other times it's a nuzlocke so I'm just following those rules, and still others are just another normal playthrough in another language so I'm catching everything as I go (although this is no longer the case as I dumped the all form and language living dex when they announced the cut because fuck them).

I catch every single Pokémon I come across that I don't own in that playthrough yet. Then I complete the dex once i'm done with the E4.
