How so? They still stand up today. They're the most iconic Pokemon 19 years later. Pokemon Go essentially was a mini-boom because of Gen 1. Gen 1 gets new forms while your favourites dont. They have incredible market value.

I really loved the Rangers games as a child. I doubt I would have as much fun with them as an adult, but this image gave me a nice wave of nostalgia. I Don't know if I'd consider it the best age of Pokemon, but I appreciate this post

The only golden age was during Pokémania with Gen 1. Gen 5 nearly killed the franchise and was responsible for the downfall of the quality we’ve been witnessing till this day. The only thing keeping Pokémon afloat is the Kanto justified pandering, without it the franchise would be dead.

Holy shit I just realized you can visit every region on the 3DS. I honestly wish they had remade RGB again just so I could say the original Kanto was there and not just whatever was in HGSS(never played them)
The move to the switch is really a fiasco to me at this point, say what you want about the 3DS not being able to handle shit, I get that but..fuck every region on one console is amazing.

There was an even bigger genwunner outcry in gen 3 but you probably weren't old enough to remember since facebook didn't exist back then. Gen 5's problem was that all the changes felt completely superficial and the actual gameplay mechanics that were added i.e. triples/rotation weren't fleshed out very well and felt more like a gimmick than anything.

It's funny, whenever you hear a unovabortion talk about how "daring" their game was you just know if it weren't bullshit they'd prefer gen 6 because those games were easily more game changing than gen V. I honestly believe if pokemon skipped gen V and we went straight to gen 6 most Unovabortions would be autistically defending kalos right now because that would have been their first game instead.
