How come new Pokémon don't experiment with their faces anymore? Earlier (NOT JUST GEN 1 DONT YOU FUCKING START.) gens experimented so much and now they just play everything safe.

I think there's a great variety of faces OP, my complaint is towards the lack of faceless pokemon. I think it's cool when a pokemon doesn't have a little happy face on it.
Pokemon like starmie, the Regis, and some of the ultra beasts just come off as creatures instead of mascot characters.
