Probably different for the UK mainland but I'm in NI and the SM release promised day-of delivery and it didn't come til nearly a week later. I like to get a physical copy of every Pokemon game so since then I've just decided I'll always just go to a store.

If you’ve got prime it’s free release day delivery (whatever time amazon deliveries usually arrive for you, about 2pm for me). If you don’t have prime, you can still get release day delivery but I’ve no idea how much it costs.
