>>40474959I really dislike how the lore surrounding Megas has been treated from ORAS onward, in general. Early statements in the games, promotional material, and the XY anime all implied that Megas were only being found in Kalos. Now this was consistent with the post-game explanation; they're a product of AZ's Ultimate Weapon, which radiated the landscape many years ago. This could also explain their rarity, and the rarity of Key Stones. But then ORAS explains that the stones are space rocks, meaning they can show up anywhere. Also, Fug has a 'Mega Stone' built into its body, so it could Mega Evolve all along and just needed the right trigger. I don't know where AZ's weapon fits in here, and it seems like the XY canon was just thoroughly retconned. But they conveniently introduced the multiverse in this same game, so inconsistencies can be written off...
And don't get me started on SM and its edgy Dex entries...
