I know we're all anons here so there's no way for you to know who I am specifically, but i've basically one of the many who were dead set on NOT buying these games...however something strange happened at work. After that pikachu/meowth/charizard gigantamax trailer came out, normies (people whose last pokemon game was Pokemon Go, which they've also gotten tired of) are really excited for Sw/Sh. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't care, but as a grown ass man, its been well over 10 years since i've been able to play a pokemon game with other people IRL (not a bunch of nobodies online). The nostalgia of all the fun I had playing pokemon with friends is hitting me hard, so, i've decided i'm going to buy Shield.
I feel ashamed even admitting it, but I can't help myself.
