What's with all the Geodude line hate? I've always liked that pokémon line in general, curious to see why people don't.

I love them as well but I understand the dislike. They were extremely common in every regional dex until unova so even if you liked them enough to raise one at some point their presence still becomes tiresome. I don’t understand hating the designs though, even if they aren’t flashy they’re all badass rock monsters.

I didn't hate them until Gen 4 when for some reason the designers decided to put them on almost every route throughout all of Sinnoh. I even encountered a shiny at one point which exploded on turn 1 against me.

Always liked the line. Golem was one of those non-Legendary Pokemon in Gen 1 with a bit of mystique due to being exclusive to trades.

The Graveler into Golem evo has always seemed weird to me, I know the theory about it's DNA crossing with Machoke but I always felt Golem didn't belong there, or at least his typing should've been different.

Reasons Geodude line is better than the Rhyhorn line:
1. Has abilities it can actually use
2. Explosion
3. Doesn't have Rhyperior as a final evo

Graveler and Golem are decent

I think Geodude is a pretty dumb design who goes under the radar because of its nostalgia.

I'm mostly just sick of them. It's really bad in Sinnoh where nearly every cave is just Geodude and Zubat. Sinnoh really did pick the most overused gen 1 Pokemon to appear in it's dex, besides Ponyta and the stuff that evolved.

I'm actually less sick of Zubat than Geodude, since I really like Crobat.
