Do you consider the pokemon series getting more childish? As an adult you can still enjoy RBY, GSC and to some extend RSE and FRLG.
However with gen 4, it's really becoming more childish. It was still somewat okay, but if you look at newer or the recent talk, the amount of babytalk or interaction with characters is just cringe.
Also the protagonists look more and more weak, dare I say, Soiboy. Gen 1 and 2 was peak design. Just a jeans pants, a jacket or a sweater, a cap, boom. Now they look like metrosexual twigs that look like they can't walk 5 miles on their "adventure".
I just bought X, and Alpha Sapphire and I just cringe at the introduction. I'll pick pokemon red or pokemon gold over them, anyday.
